The Dairy Cattle Show is a staple event of Old Home Week and with more than 40 exhibitors and 175 cattle on display, it’s one of the largest shows of the week. Ayrshire and Holstein cattle in classes of cow and calf/yearling, will be judged on their overall “dairyness” i.e. their apparent capacity for feed and the size and strength of their legs and hooves, and their udders and mammary system in the cow class. There’s more to this show than understanding where milk comes from!
